Mountain Banjos
Mountain Banjos
In addition to my SB-100 open-back banjo, I’m also offering these simply wonderful Mountain Style banjos, inspired by the made-at-home examples found in the Foxfire book series and some other sources. All wood construction with a fixed goat skin head stretched and tacked onto an internal hardwood rim, 24” scale length, nyl-gut strings, fretless neck with side marker dots, hand made violin style tapered tuning pegs, and local hardwoods such as walnut, cherry and maple. A truly authentic old-time sound and lots of fun to play.
This #004 banjo has a black walnut neck, 24” scale, cherry peg head overlay, cherry and walnut pot, 6” internal mulberry rim, and persimmon finger board.
